Voluntary work at pro mente means that non-professionals who themselves take part in public life dedicate part of their spare time to psychosocially impaired people. Meeting them on a regular basis, volunteers make sure that the people they accompany don’t lose touch with normality and reality. A further option is for a psychosocially impaired person to move in with a host family. With the additional cost of living being reimbursed, the family also receives professional support from pro mente staff while the new resident is given the opportunity to take part in family life. |
